Christmas on safari: time for wildlife and time together

A Christmas safari can be a shared journey through Tanzania’s northern landscapes. Start with a route that works, rather than a long list of parks squeezed into too few days. Then agree the camp, meal plan and group arrangements that make the festive days comfortable.

A route with a clear beginning and ending

The proposed 2026 group arrives in Arusha on 19 December. Safari days run from 20 to 26 December: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, two nights in the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro highlands and a planned Christmas Day crater drive. Return to Arusha on the 26th and depart on the 27th.

That means six safari accommodation nights and two Arusha hotel nights. The two Serengeti nights allow a full day of wildlife viewing between the arrival and return transfers. Exact camps, room arrangements and driving schedules are agreed in the quote.

Make Christmas simple and meaningful

The Christmas Day plan is a crater game drive and a picnic at a permitted site, followed by dinner at the agreed accommodation. Any festive menu, special event or surcharge must be checked with the property before it becomes part of your booking.

The park remains a wildlife destination with operating rules. A celebration does not change access limits, wildlife-viewing etiquette or your guide’s decisions. No particular animal encounter is promised.

What sharing the safari means

The proposal is for four to six guests in one safari vehicle. Ask about luggage space, roof access, seat arrangements and the language used by the driver-guide. Discuss the day’s timing as a group and leave room for rest.

Tell David about walking pace, assistance needs, dietary preferences and whether you are travelling with a companion. Vehicle access and camp paths need individual checking; a safari is not automatically step-free.

What to confirm before paying

  • Named camps or lodges and their locations for every night.
  • Included meals, drinking water and any festive surcharges.
  • Park fees, the crater vehicle fee and the actual game-drive plan.
  • Minimum operating party, group confirmation deadline and the policy if the departure cannot run.
  • The full personal quote, deposit terms and verified payment instructions.
