DAVID EXPLORA · TRIP PLANNING

Planning Tanzania travel when you need additional support

A disability or a need for assistance should start a useful planning conversation. What matters is the experience you want and the arrangements that would help you take part. David Explora offers a dedicated enquiry in English and Spanish to check those details before promising a route.

Describe the practical arrangements you need

You do not need to share a diagnosis or medical records in the website form. Tell David about boarding a vehicle, using steps, walking distance, equipment dimensions if relevant, and whether a travelling companion helps with particular tasks.

For a language request, explain whether you would prefer Spanish for planning, guiding or both. David speaks English and Kiswahili and is developing his Spanish; a Spanish-speaking guide must be requested and confirmed for the dates.

Check the actual accommodation and vehicle

Ask for the entrance route, room and bathroom layout, thresholds, steps and transfer arrangements at the property proposed for you. A general hotel description is not enough to confirm that its room meets your requirements.

Safari vehicles may have high steps and uneven boarding areas. Boat boarding can vary with tides and the landing point. These details need to be checked with the specific provider, with photographs or measurements where they help the decision.

Choose the activity after the checks

A tailored city visit, time at a suitable coastal property or vehicle-based wildlife viewing may offer useful alternatives to strenuous walking. Suitability still depends on the exact arrangements and conditions.

Kilimanjaro trails, village paths and forest walks can be steep, rocky or uneven. The general catalogue is not a list of certified accessible tours. David will explain which proposed activities need changes or an alternative before asking you to confirm.

Put the agreed support in writing

  • The activity, accommodation and vehicle that were checked.
  • The assistance available, who provides it and any additional cost.
  • Walking distances, steps or transfers that remain part of the plan.
  • The role of a companion and any arrangements needing a separate provider.
  • A practical alternative if weather or operating conditions change.
